CHILDBIRTH AND PARENTHOOD
Children
are produced as a natural consequence of cohabitation. More often, One gives birth in order to produce a miniature version
of oneself. Or to produce a permanent union of oneself with the spouse.
Many
a time this is an accidental pregnancy due to poor contraception. If it is so, The couple may decide to keep the baby because
of
a)
Not wanting to abort one’s offspring
b)
Fear of Labour in woman
c)
Too late to abort by standard medical practices
It
must be well understood that having a baby is aan option not a compulsion. A couple must not have a baby as a result of inherent
complexes but only when they are ready, emotionally and financially to have a child.
After
childbirth, Ageing complexes set in. The woman finds that her once voluptuous breast now sag because the milk sacs are now
empty. The breast tissue soften and may resemble deflated balloons. The vaginal cavity is now extra distended because of the
delivery of the child. Thus intercourse with the partner may not produce the same degree of satisfaction. The oestrogens fall
after birth and there may be hairfall, overweight states and depression.
The
man may too age rapidly with sleepless nights in rearing the child.
